self-pay benefits

Inner Freedom is not in-network with any health insurance plans. However, a superbill can be provided for those who wish to use their out-of-network insurance benefits. All session fees are self-pay and are required to be paid at the time of the appointment. Here are a few reasons behind our payment preferences.

While many therapists are qualified to provide cognitive therapy, not many utilize faith-integrated Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. Insurance companies are less likely to work with specialists and unique therapists because of the infrequency of their use. If you are looking for a faith-integrated IFS psychotherapist or other specialized practitioners, please be sure to check with your insurance for details on their policy.

Specialized Practices

Self-pay gives practitioners the freedom to focus primarily on your health and healing. Insured services are constrained by what can be coded and billed correctly. Additionally, insurance requires a qualifying diagnosis, which goes on your medical record, to cover sessions while self-pay services do not.

Personalized Services

Just because Inner Freedom Psychotherapy is out-of-network does not mean that your insurance will not cover any of the services. Check your insurance out-of-network benefits policy to see if you can be reimbursed. Some insurance plans can cover up to 80% of out-of-network session fees. Depending on your deductible and out-of-network benefits, private pay can be cheaper. Be sure to check with your insurance.

additional pricing information

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate.” A Good Faith Estimate provides an estimate of the cost of your psychotherapy services. It is not a bill. Under the law, healthcare providers are required to give clients/patients, who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

  • Up to 4 regular cancellations per calendar year are allowable if four business days of notice is given. One cancellation, apart from the 4 mentioned above, per calendar year is reserved for serious illness or emergency, and notice of this cancellation can be given until the start time of the session. Late cancellations, no-shows, and cancellations made after 4 regular cancellations have been made will be billed the full session price. I will do my best to reschedule or help you make up the session, but if we cannot do either then you will be billed the full session price.
